Jacqueline is a Registered Social Worker who has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, parents, families, and groups facing diverse issues including but not limited to anxiety, stress, conflict, depression, bereavement, burnout, relationship & family dynamics, self-esteem, military life, and life transitions.

Jacqueline utilizes a proven integrated approach that incorporates cognitive behavioural (CBT), dialectical behaviour (DBT), strength based, solution focused, change management, motivational, and problem-solving theory, and strategies to provide psychotherapy and interventions that are client centered and promote empowerment. She has experience in geriatrics and enjoys working with seniors and helping with aging-related issues. Jacqueline has facilitated grief and loss, and bereavement groups. She has facilitated groups for children involving issues related to military deployment, divorce, and home alone safety.

As well, Jacqueline has lead psycho-educational groups related to healthy eating and nutrition. She has co-lead groups for mindfulness, and career development. Jacqueline highlights the importance and benefits of positive self-care. She takes a holistic approach when working collaboratively with clients and is open to include one’s spiritual beliefs and values in the therapeutic process. Wendy is a clinical counsellor and has over 20 years experience helping children, adolescents, and families navigate and meet with success. She has extensive experience with: relationship building, assisting families and schools in working together to meet the diverse needs of children and helping children/youth to become confident, independent, resilient, mindful and empathetic.

Wendy has completed training in childhood trauma, addictions in youth and adults, and family systems. Wendy has a special interest in advocating for and helping clients navigate the many changes, challenges and stages that life presents.

Francine works with children and adults treating anxiety, ADHD, and life stressors. She has vast experience teaching psychoeducational skills to children and adolescents. This includes but not limited to creating healthy thought patterns, engaging in new ways of coping, increased perspective taking, and creating and developing healthy habits of mindfulness. She believes that regardless of age, these ways of being and responding, can support calm and clarity in a person’s life.

Francine uses a trauma informed approach and is a certified ADHD Clinician. She also has completed certification in the treatment of anxiety. Her goal is to create an environment of support and connection with clients, so that they can make impactful change in their lives.

Cassie resides on traditional, ancestral, and unceded land of the Mi’kmaq and Beothuk, which is now commonly known as Newfoundland. She recognizes the present systemic inequities that are the result of colonization and is invested in working together towards truth and reconciliation, which includes, but is not limited to, the affirmation of Indigenous knowledge, the celebration of Indigenous culture, and the elevation of Indigenous voices.

Cassie is a registered social worker in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Inspired by a family history in the social work profession and the children and youth she worked with as a child and youth care worker, she received her Bachelor of Social Work from MUN in 2017. Cassie received her Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University in 2022. Cassie spent over five years working with mental health and addictions in the public sector in both Alberta and Nova Scotia. She occupied roles that provided both therapeutic support and clinical intervention.

Cassie has received training in EMDR for traumatic processing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT). Cassie has also received training in the delivery of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skills, Trauma-Informed Interventions, and Play-Based Interventions.

In Cassie’s MSW program, Trauma-Informed Care was an area of interest. Cassie’s other areas of interest include the role of meta-emotions in well-being and psychodynamic approaches. Challaina has extensive with individuals of various ages who are experiencing a range of mental health concerns and life challenges. She has experience with child development and supporting parents and their children through challenging life events. She believes that there is no “one size fits all” approach to mental health; instead, she takes on an eclectic and integrative approach to counselling and chooses to meet the client where they are in their journey. Jenna Kean, co-founder of The Calm Place, is a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a passion for continued education around mental health and wellness. Her aim is to create a safe space where individuals can learn how to strengthen coping skills, address daily stressors, and learn how to develop and practice healthy coping patterns. Jenna has experience working with individuals in the areas of depression, anxiety, anger, parenting, stress management, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and self-esteem. She has extensive experience teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to diverse populations and a stellar reputation of creating an inviting, engaging, and safe learning environment for her clients. Rose provides a kind, compassionate, non-judgemental healing space using the highly sought after IFS approach. Working with the clients internal systems is a non-patholigizing way to address specific issues they are dealing with as well as the more subtle ways trauma shows up in their lives and relationships. This can help to improve general emotional and mental well being or address more specific concerns such as depression, anxiety and PTSD. Through years working as a massage therapist, Rose watched clients struggle with chronic pain, stress and anxiety. Because of this experience it is important to her to honour the connection between mind and body to process and resolve emotional health concerns. By including the Somatic IFS model she works with the client’s physical symptoms to investigate how they relate to past and present experiences. Kelsey takes a holistic, biopsychosocial approach to working with her clients, as what brings us to therapy exists within all aspects of our lives. She applies theoretical approaches such as client-centered, attachment-based, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and solution-focused therapies, and components of mindfulness.

After transitioning from a previous background in nutrition, Kelsey completed a Master of Counselling Psychology, and a year-long focused practicum in Couples Counselling and Relationship Counselling. She has specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) - which is a gold standard of treatment when it comes to working with couples and focuses on decreasing relationship distress and creating strong bonds.
